Abraham Lincoln is
an affable, hearty pioneer, who labors diligently on his family's farm in the
early 1800s. Despite the incessant chores, he steals time to write poetry and
read, reveling in the fascinating worlds opened up to him through books. His
first adventure to New Orleans brings a surprise encounter with the slave
trade, and his feelings about justice and fairness take root.
As Abe matures, he moves to Illinois, where students join him in the fun of
square dancing, and he establishes himself as a prominent (and self-taught)
lawyer. He is then called to lead his countrymen, and students will share in
his discovery of true leadership as he carries America through her most
tumultuous period.
Abraham Lincoln was a leader of unwavering integrity, fully committed to
defending that which was right over that which was popular, and HPC is proud
to bring his story to life.
